Homemade Twix Bars

Easiest raw slices EVER! No blender needed & date free recipe! –  Using the liquid coconut oil which is super good cause it always stays liquid (even in winter) meaning no need to melt it over the stove or in the microwave!


Base layer (Shortbread):

  • 1 cup + 3 tbsp of oat flour
  • ⅔ cup of almond meal
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp of maple syrup –
    Middle layer (Caramel)
  • ½ cup of smooth peanut butter
  • 3 tbsp of maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp of soy milk
  • 1 tbsp of water -Top layer (Choc)
  • ⅓ cup of coconut oil
  • 4 tbsp of cacao powder
  • 3 tbsp of maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt –


1 Mix all base layer ingredients in a bowl
2 Press into a lined baking tray & put in freezer
3 In a bowl, mix all middle layer ingredients & place on top of base layer. Freeze overnight
4 On low heat, melt the coconut oil + cacao powder + maple syrup + salt. Once liquidised, bring off the heat & continue to stir until it thickens (this is super important- as the maple syrup hasn’t combined into the coconut oil yet & little bubbles arise. Once it thickens, bubbles should disappear)
5 Pour over the middle layer & sprinkle salt. Put back in freezer to set.
6 Cut up with a hot knife
7 Store in freezer in an airtight container
